Material Handler- Camden, SC
We are currently recruiting for Material Handlers to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Camden, SC. INVISTA’s Camden facility has been proudly producing Nylon fibers for over 50 years. These fibers can be found in consumer products such as STAINMASTER® carpet fiber, automotive carpet fiber, Nylon flake used in automotive airbag fibers, and more. Material Handlers may work in any one of the following areas of the facility including spinning, salt & flake, and packaging. This position creates value by safely operating and maintaining our equipment to meet production goals and by creating a quality product for our customers. Employees that show the initiative and desire to take on additional responsibilities and the ability to acquire new skills will have the opportunity to build a career at INVISTA.
Rotating 12-hour shifts. (36 hours one week, 48 hours the following week)
Average full-time work schedule of 14 days per month
Rotating shift schedule requires employee to work some holidays and at least 50% of weekends
Schedule is subject to modification as production needs dictate
A Day in the Life Typically Includes:
Handling nylon fiber products from multiple fast paced spinning machines and pushing carts / dollies of finished product
Apply procedures, perform required quality checks on product and equipment, and take corrective actions when needed per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Inspecting and loading sea bulk containers, assist with the shipping of product when needed (Salt & Flake area)
Demonstrating strong attention to details and coordination skills
Entering data into computer management systems
Housekeeping of work area
What do you need?
High school diploma or GED or a score of 3 or higher in ACT Work Keys Locating Information and Observation (or score of 2 or higher for Workplace Observation). Work Keys scores must be obtained and your scores should be uploaded with your application to be considered.
Prior work experience in a team environment
What would put you ahead?
Previous manufacturing, warehouse, material handler, or related experience
Previous forklift driving experience
Experience with computer applications such as Word, Excel, and SAP
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting (45lbs), walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day
Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations including wearing personal protective equipment
Willing and able to work a twelve (12) hour shift to include, weekend & holiday hours
Willing and able to work in a hot/humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
Physical Abilities test will be required
