Salary Range: UN 190 ($140,670.12 - $171,392.76/Annually)

Under general direction, plans, organizes, integrates and directs the work of the Agency's Asset Management Program; responsible for collaborating with major functional areas across multiple Divisions to coordinate and manage the Agency's asset portfolio; manage infrastructure assets to ensure reliability while minimizing the total life cycle cost; develop processes and procedures to capture information for high level and complex decision-making in optimizing asset lifespan and Capital Investment replacement planning; and perform related duties as assigned.
The Manager of Asset Management is responsible for managing and overseeing the development and integration of the Asset Management Program, including leading, facilitating, coordinating and providing direction to ensure that the benefits of asset management are realized in an efficient and effective manner. Work is broad in scope and requires seasoned judgment and a high degree of initiative, independence and accountability.
An employee in this class typically reports to the Executive Manager of Engineering/Assistant General Manager or Executive Manager of Operations/Assistant General Manager and directs the work of professional, technical and associated staff.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in civil, mechanical, industrial, electrical engineering or another engineering discipline acceptable to the Agency, and at least ten years of progressively responsible experience in engineering and operations project management, at least five of which were at a manager or supervisory level; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. A master's degree and experience in a wastewater/water utility are preferred. Continuing education coursework in the area of asset management and knowledge and application of ISO 55001 is desirable.
LICENSE; CERTIFICATES; SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
A valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Agency's vehicle insurance program.
Registration by the State of California as a Professional Engineer is desired.
Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) Certification or similar professional certification strongly desired.
