Job Description

Armstrong Flooring, Inc. has an opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor located in Kankakee, IL. As our Maintenance Supervisor, you will lead and manage a maintenance crew of approximately 45 employees. You will also coordinate maintenance resources to service 5 operational lines and a distribution center over 3 shifts. This position reports directly to the Maintenance & Reliability Manager.

Location: 1401 N. Hobbie Avenue, Kankakee, IL 60901
Maintenance Supervisor Salary: $80,000 - $85,000, based on experience (Gr. 9/10)

How you’ll contribute to the team:

  • Develop skills, technology and systems within the maintenance organization to ensure maximum asset and resource effectiveness
  • Drive the transformation of the organization from a reactive to a proactive state
  • Conceives and recommends ideas to reduce cost of maintenance on existing facilities
  • Operate effectively within Maintenance budget and help drive cost reduction goals
  • Ensure ongoing training of craftsmen to keep their skills up to pace with changing technology and to secure flexibility
  • Assist in the set-up and scheduling of contracted labor to provide necessary resources when required for work
  • Maintain daily excellence so that results may be attained in safety, quality, scrap, downtime, and cost
  • Conduct regular meetings to discuss business information, plant performance, issues, concerns, and ensuring that the execution of their jobs is consistent with the Plant’s goals and objectives
  • Drive reliability in plant infrastructure equipment
  • Participate in Kaizen events to eliminate waste and improve material flow as we strive to improve our processes and reduce waste

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Degree in Manufacturing Technology, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related field or related experience
  • 3+ years in plant maintenance and/or manufacturing experience
  • Maintenance or production leadership or supervision experience
