Job Description Maintenance

Position Summary:

The Maintenance position's primary purpose is to repair production machinery, plant fork trucks, install air, gas, and electrical conduit, make woodworking repairs for shipping skids and display cases, and general plant maintenance.

Essential Job Duties:

• Electrical repairs to plant machinery.
• Repairs and maintenance of fork trucks
• Installation of water, gas, and electrical lines.
• General maintenance of production machinery.
• General building and grounds maintenance.
• Making machine repair parts as needed.
• Other duties are required as assigned. Work with Engineering to develop new or improved assembly procedures when needed.

Physical Demands & Abilities:

• Must be able to lift to a maximum of 50 lbs.
• Must be able to physically be able to perform strenuous and sometimes difficult tasks involving bending, stretching, lifting, pulling, climbing, etc., safely and efficiently.
• Must be mechanically inclined and possess problem-solving skills
• Be able to follow instructions, communicate, and get along with others.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

• A high School Degree or equivalent is minimally required. 2 Year Technical Degree or completion of a Relevant Apprenticeship program is preferred. Experience and on-the-job training may be considered instead of a formal apprenticeship program.
• At least 3-5 years of professional experience in mechanical and electrical, minimally required; 5+ years experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Strong Electrical experience preferred.

Paid time off after 30 days while a probationary employee.

Sick leave is earned and paid in accordance with the Allegheny County Sick Pay Ordinance. One hour is earned for every 35 hours of work to a max of 40 hours, and it's available after 90 days for the legitimate reasons listed.
