GovHR USA is pleased to announce the recruitment and selection process for a Facility Maintenance Specification Writer (Maintenance & Construction) with expertise in writing technical specifications for industrial equipment and building system upgrades, repairs, and replacements for Pace's equipment and building systems for fume sensing calibration, plumbing devices back flow certifications, standby generators, fire detection and suppression systems, overhead doors, and HVAC systems and controls.
Examples of job responsibilities include:
Writing:
scopes of work for inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair and
contract documents and independent cost estimates for invitations for bid and requests for quotation on repairs and replacements of existing equipment and infrastructure at all Pace garages.
and administering service contracts.
Evaluating costs for repairs, services, and improvements.
Troubleshooting equipment and building failures to determine the next course of action.
Periodically inspecting contractors' work.
Performs other duties as required.
Position reports to the Section Manager, Facilities Maintenance
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent. An associate degree is preferred.
Must have at least five years’ experience in:
Building trades and construction industry (for example mechanical engineering, HVAC, project superintendent or crew leader who has overseen projects and knows the industry)
Hands on experience with facilities maintenance (including knowledge of various trades)
Writing:
equipment replacement and maintenance service contracts;
and administering service contracts for building trades; and
technical specifications for the replacement and repair of existing building equipment and infrastructure.
Must demonstrate:
strong business writing skills including accurate proofreading, editing, grammar, spelling, and punctuation and
proficiency using business software applications including email, word, spreadsheets, and online meetings and chats. (Experience in Microsoft Suite and Teams is preferred).
A valid driver’s license. Local travel to Pace locations is required.
Good verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
