Project Manager

 

The MIT Department of Facilities seeks a project manager to be responsible for managing small- to mid-size projects from inception to closeout for the Repair and Maintenance group, meeting budgets and deliverable schedules. Will also be responsible for planning and executing capital renewal--major repair orders (MRO)--and for performing related duties as assigned. Typical project scope ranges from $10,000 to $1,000,000. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering
  • Minimum of five years of related experience, including experience managing multiple small- to mid-size and moderately complex design and construction projects with a typical project scope of $10,000 to $1,000,000
  • Experience organizing and analyzing data utilizing planning- and design-related software packages and desktop PC computer applications
  • Ability to resolve and/or recognize when to escalate issues, listen to other opinions, and incorporate those ideas into the work plan
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant Massachusetts’ building codes/regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to give presentations, prepare written business reports, and negotiate and form alliances
