Maintenance Technician
Lake Forest Country Day School (LFCDS) seeks a talented and dedicated full-time Maintenance Technician starting in August 2024. This qualified candidate will join the Facilities team in providing outstanding service to the students, faculty, staff and parents at LFCDS. The candidate will work collaboratively with the Facilities team to ensure a clean, safe, top-notch school building well prepared for events, student learning, and a successful work environment.
LFCDS, located on a 30-acre campus about 30 miles north of Chicago, Illinois, is a co-educational, independent day school serving 400 students from age 2 through eighth grade. The School has a long tradition of producing thoughtful, confident, and successful students. Children are known, loved, and challenged at LFCDS, and a state-of-the-art facility provides a remarkable setting for inspired teaching, academic rigor, and attention to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable work environment for students, faculty, and parents
Minor repairs and other work performed within the scope of skills of general building maintenance (ex: painting, HVAC, hanging of facility/employee items)
Review work orders to ensure assignments are completed
Responsible for inspections and reports as identified
Set up and take down materials for lectures, staff meetings, and other special events.
Participate in facility emergency procedures and support
There will be physical demands of this position, including lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying, walking, pulling, and pushing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintenance and support of campus housing.
Professional and Personal Qualifications
General building maintenance experience. High school diploma. Basic computer skills.
