Job Description
Job Summary
The Physical Plant Maintenance Division Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of maintenance staff and technicians to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of all facility systems and equipment. This role involves overseeing preventive maintenance programs, coordinating repairs and upgrades, and managing capital expenditure projects. The manager will also be responsible for preparing and managing the maintenance budget, maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Maintenance Staff: Lead, hire and train, and manage a team of maintenance staff and technicians, ensuring high performance and adherence to all local, state and federal safety regulations and standards.
- Capital Expenditures: Administer, plan and manage global capital expenditure project process and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
- Preventive Maintenance: Oversee preventive maintenance program and schedules for all building systems and production equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Repairs and Upgrades: Oversee and coordinate repairs, installations, and upgrades of facility systems and equipment.
- Projects: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of maintenance-related projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance services.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment warranties, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in maintenance management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in plant maintenance, with 5 years or more in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic and facilities systems.
- Proven ability to lead multi-discipline teams both as a supervisor and in a technical capacity.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Promotes collaboration and resolves conflict.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across organizational levels
- Relevant certifications are a plus.
