Local commercial building (law firms) is looking for a part-time reliable, skilled maintenance worker to perform essential upkeep tasks in our building and assist in monitoring building systems operations. Building employs an outside cleaning service and an outside landscaping company. Performs assigned day to day repairs, emergency and preventative maintenance. Flexible hours to be determined, Monday through Friday, primarily late afternoon-early evening. Flexible work days and hours, apx 10-12 hours per week.  Availability on weekends on an emergency basis is a plus. Responsibility for a wide variety of maintenance and repair activities, must be able to work independently. The candidate must have the manual dexterity and physical stamina to do this work i.e. climb on ladders and stairs, climb into awkward spaces, lift heavy objects. Must have a basic understanding of electrical systems, painting, carpentry, and plumbing.  Duties may include replacing light fixture ballasts, bulbs, ceiling tiles, air filters, light furniture moving, assembling furniture, installation of appliances such as dishwasher, painting, repair and mud drywall, hang picture frames and other wall items, and perform other minor repairs as needed. Other maintenance responsibilities may include light plumbing such as replacing faucets, toilet flushers, P-traps. Job requests from management may be via work email or verbal. A walk-through of the building is required on every workday to check for burnt out bulbs, lamps, ballasts, wall damage, exterior lights, etc. Previous experience in office building maintenance is required, as well as good communication and interpersonal skills. Follows all Safety Procedures according to OSHA.  Minimum of high school diploma and references are required.  Candidate must be able to successfully pass a background check administered by an outside agency, and provide proof of a negative COVID test.
