JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION PURPOSE The Veolia James River Plant located in Richmond, Virginia is looking for a Reliability and MIQA Engineer. The ideal candidate will be the owner of the reliability engineering and Mechanical Integrity Quality Assurance (MIQA) function for the facility, ensuring and implementing best practices to maintain consistent and reliable equipment operations. This is a key role within the Operations function and reports directly to the Plant Manager. PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Provide technical expertise on all matters of reliability engineering, assessment and monitoring for all process equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and instrument / control equipment. Carry out reliability studies on existing equipment and recommend needed improvements to Operations management in the areas of equipment philosophies, equipment strategies, equipment improvements and best practices for asset productivity Implement identified reliability improvement projects and other assigned equipment/site improvement projects from conception through start-up while following and completing site Management of Change procedures. Member of site Process Safety Management Committee, with primary focus in Mechanical Integrity (MI) and Quality Assurance (QA).  Follow up on action items related to audits and MIQA activities Support capital projects by participating in setting equipment “fitness for use” criteria and specifications to optimize equipment/system reliability and life cycle cost. Also lead minor capital projects and activities/provide technical support for QA/QC, installation, and start-up of all new critical equipment. Lead incident investigations and perform root cause failure analysis for incidents with a suspected Mechanical Integrity/Quality Assurance cause Develop/create inspection plans for site equipment and setting up maintenance plans in SAP Develop and track site MIQA/Reliability metrics as required by corporate mandates and additional metrics appropriate for the site, while developing and completing corrective actions for metric performance improvement.  Present metrics to site staff periodically. Oversee/interact with maintenance contractors regarding maintenance repairs, repair plans, equipment installation, quality assurance requirements, etc… Assist operations with equipment troubleshooting Maintain James River Asset Life Plan and provide guidance to Operations on timing for replacement of major equipment based on technical assessment Interact with third party inspectors for required regulatory equipment inspections/certifications JOB REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS   ●       BS in Engineering ( Mechanical Engineer preferred) ●       Minimum 5 years relative experience working in/on Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance programs or in Maintenance Supervision ●       Minimum 5 years of manufacturing (chemical industry preferred) operations/maintenance experience ●       Manufacturing experience which includes exposure to Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement systems and tools         ●       Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) ●       Willingness to be available and on call 24/7 as needed due to business conditions ●       Ability to perform confined space entry Familiarity with national standards such as API 510 & 570 & 653, ASME B31.1 & B31.3, NBIC, NACE SP 0294 Familiarity with Non Destructive Testing methods such as Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Radiographic Testing (RT) , Thermal/Infrared Testing (TIR) , Ultrasonic Testing (UT) , Vibration Analysis Testing (VA), etc.. Familiarity with various welding techniques Experience working with Highly Hazardous Chemicals/High Hazard Process Experience with SAP Experience in Root Cause Failure Analysis and Incident investigations Demonstrated collaborative problem solving, excellent planning and organizational skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills and team work Strong analytical skills Proactive problem solving and utilization of data in a timely manner Current and valid driver’s license   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT Willing and able to work in a High Hazard environment; outdoors, indoors, elevated heights and confined spaces  Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hardhat, protective eyewear, etc.  Willing and able to climb stairs, ladders; stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl; visual acuity for close work; able to reach overhead; able to hear and respond to alarms Primary function is to support James River – travel can range from 5-20% based on training and support to other RGS plants.

SUMMARY: Maintain and repair rides, attractions, and Park facilities. Inspect rides, equipment and facilities to diagnose problems and determine the best feasible way to correct them.  Dismantle and assemble mechanical and electrical devices, and repair or replace defective parts.  Accurately and thoroughly complete basic paper records and reports. Must have PSL capabilities.   Work schedule for is 40+ hours per week, weekends, holidays and nights. Have the ability to effectively present information to others, from line employees to senior management.   REASONING ABILITY: Have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule forms.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Applicant must have an understanding and general knowledge of methods, practices, procedures, tools and materials used in the maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be able to work independently, or work cooperatively with all maintenance team member, and all other divisional employees and leadership. Must be a self-starter and able to work with measured supervision.  Must be able to communicate effectively to peers and supervisors. Must have an understanding and general knowledge of methods, practices, procedures, tools and materials used in the maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities. Report all safety hazards and injuries to Supervisor/Manager. All other duties as assigned and needed. All duties and responsibilities must be performed according to Pacific Park policies and procedures. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift up to 100lbs. Must be available to stand for approx. 8 hours. Position requires constant lifting, standing, walking, stooping, reaching, kneeling and crouching/ squatting and walking on uneven surfaces. While performing the duties of this job the employee will frequently work in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat conditions. Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, and in high or precarious places. May occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment can range from moderate to loud.   LOCATION AND WORK ENVIORMENT: This position is located in Santa Monica. Year-round weekend and holiday work is required. This is a part time position, however peak periods may require 40 + hours/weekly. Employees work outdoors year round under varying weather condidions. Pacific Park is an at-will employer.
