CSC Applied Technology Group
In April 1959, four decades of pioneering, exploration and innovation got off the ground when Nutt and Jones pooled $100 to start a company that they named Computer Sciences Corporation. With Nutt providing the technical direction and Jones handling the marketing, the young company prospered, quickly gaining a reputation for innovative design and high-quality work. In 1961 a contract to support NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratorys Flight Operations Facility launched CSC into the space business. CSC went public in 1963 and was listed the following year on the Pacific and American stock exchanges, becoming the first software company to be listed on a national exchange. Currently CSC has 91,000 employees in 80 countries worldwide. More information available at www.csc.com
